The recruiting process has been hectic for Seminole running back Papi White.
Two months ago, Western Kentucky was the only college program with an offer on the table for the 3,000-yard rusher. But through December and January, Southern Miss, Ohio and Tulsa all came in, and White found himself scrambling to make a decision.
He verbally committed to Southern Miss when he made an official visit to the campus in mid-January. But after visiting Ohio the following weekend, and entertaining coaches from both schools at his home in the last few days, White changed his commitment to Ohio, according to Seminole coach Mike Snyder.
Snyder says the Ohio coaches love White’s versatility, with the ability to run out of the backfield, line up in the slot, and return kickoffs and punts.
White rushed for 3,133 yards and 41 touchdowns this past season, also intercepting eight passes as a defensive back. He led the state in rushing yards per game at 241.0.
