Sen. Tom Coburn report cites wasteful federal spending in Oklahoma
WASHINGTON — Amtrak 's Heartland Flyer , the Wild Horse and Burro Program and aid to small-town golf courses are among the examples of federal waste in Oklahoma cited in a new report by Sen. Tom Coburn .
Coburn, R-Muskogee, who has compiled numerous reports about government waste and mismanagement, decided to document about $170 million of what he considers questionable spending in his own backyard.
