SAND SPRINGS — The U.S. House of Representatives should have already started impeachment proceedings against President Barack Obama over his administration's negotiations with the Taliban, U.S. Senate candidate Randy Brogdon said Monday.
"The president of the United States violated the law — a blatant violation of the law," Brogdon said in response to a question at a Sand Springs Chamber of Commerce candidate forum. "I've been waiting for someone ... any Republican member of the House of Representatives, to file impeachment papers today. That should happen."
Former Oklahoma Speaker of the House T.W. Shannon, also a candidate in the June 24 GOP primary, was only slightly less harsh in his criticism of the deal that exchanged five members of the Taliban for a captured U.S. soldier.
