Senate committee clears nomination for Oklahoma City U.S. attorney

WASHINGTON — The Senate Judiciary Committee today approved Sanford C. Coats to be U.S. attorney for the western district of Oklahoma , which is based in Oklahoma City .

Coats' nomination, made by President Barack Obama in September, cleared the panel without debate or dissent and now goes to the full Senate.
