WASHINGTON (AP) — Kentucky Senator Rand Paul says there is a “war on Christianity” funded by American taxpayers.

Paul and other Republican lawmakers considering running for president addressed the Faith and Freedom Coalition's conference of religious conservatives on Thursday.

Paul says the war is being waged by -- quote -- “liberal elites at home and across the world.”

Another possible 2016 presidential contender is Florida Senator Marco Rubio. He says that it's a mistake for Republicans not to speak out about Christian values. He says human life has value, whether before or after childbirth.
