WASHINGTON — State Sen. Andrew Rice kept pace with U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe in fundraising over the last three months, though Inhofe has substantially more cash heading into the last three weeks of the campaign.

Rice, an Oklahoma City Democrat, raised $899,041 from July 10 through Sept. 30 and had about $450,000 in the bank at the end of the third quarter. Inhofe, R-Tulsa, raised $910,250 and had just over $2 million.
Inhofe has now raised more than $6 million since his election in 2002, while Rice has collected about $2.3 million since launching his challenge to Inhofe in the summer of 2007.
"We are proud of the strong support Senator Rice has from everyday, hard-working Oklahomans,” said Rice’s campaign manager, Geri Prado.
Josh Kivett, Inhofe’s campaign manager, said the campaign had more than 13,800 individual contributors, including contributors from every county in the state. Kivett said the campaign was "very excited about the success of our grassroots fundraising effort.”
