An Oklahoma Christian University senior wants to be the one to show your Valentine how much you care — in song. For the fifth year, Jacob Shuart is offering singing Valentines to raise money for charity. For $20, Shuart will go anywhere in the Oklahoma City metro area, including Edmond and Norman, dressed up as Cupid, complete with a pink heart-shaped guitar, and serenade your Valentine with an original song he wrote just for the occasion.
Last year, he raised more than $900 through his Valentine's efforts. He was even called on by then-first lady Kim Henry to serenade her husband, then-Gov. Brad Henry.
All of the money Shuart makes goes directly to the charity he's supporting this year, “Give a Goat.” The charity's goal is to help end poverty by providing needy families in the Philippines with a goat to enhance their livelihoods.
To schedule your Valentine sing-o-gram, call Shuart at (580) 789-0225.
