SENDAI, Japan (AP) — Ryang Yong Gi scored in the second half on Saturday as Vegalta Sendai rallied to beat Kawasaki Frontale 2-1 and regain the lead in the J-League.
Kyohei Noborizato put Kawasaki ahead with a header from seven meters in the 31st minute but Naoya Tamura equalized 10 minutes after the break with his first goal of the season.
Ryang scored the winner with a curling free kick from 16 meters in the 62nd as Sendai improved to 45 points — one ahead of Sanfrecce Hiroshima, held to a 1-1 draw at fourth-place Jubilo Iwata.
Also, Urawa Reds stayed third on 42 points after a 1-1 draw with crosstown rival Omiya Ardija while FC Tokyo beat Yokohama F Marinos 3-1.
Yohei Toyoda scored twice as Sagan Tosu beat Gamba Osaka 4-1 to move into fifth place on 38 points. Naoyuki Fujita and Teruaki Kobayashi also scored for Sagan which is playing its first season in the top flight.
In other matches, Shimizu S-Pulse beat bottom side Consadole Sapporo 2-0 while Kashima Antlers defeated Vissel Kobe 1-0 on Yuya Osako's 23rd-minute strike.
Cerezo Osaka edged struggling Albirex Niigata 1-0 and Nagoya Grampus beat defending champion Kashiwa Reysol by the same score with Keiji Tamada scoring in the 34th minute.
