Sentencing delayed for former OSU basketball player Darrell Williams
Sentencing for former Oklahoma State basketball player Darrell Williams has been delayed until September 14.
Williams, 22, was convicted last month on two counts of rape by instrumentation and one count of sexual battery, coming with a jury recommendation of one year imprisonment on each rape by instrumentation count and no time on the battery charge.

Late Thursday, Williams' defense attorneys, Cheryl Ramsey and Willie Baker, filed a motion for a new trial, citing errors in the original process. Both sides were given needed time to prepare for the appeal process.
Despite an anti-climactic decision, the courthouse was packed 20 minutes before the hearing, filled with several OSU basketball players, coach Travis Ford, Reverend Jesse Jackson and Williams family, among others.
Dressed in a button-up white shirt and khakis, Williams remained calm throughout, only saying “Yes, sir” to the judge when asked if he understood and agreed with the appeal.
Williams, who has been in the Payne County Jail since July 23, will remain in custody throughout the process.
