Sentencing set for Braman man

NEWKIRK -- A Braman man could be sentenced to more than two centuries in prison for videotaping himself molesting two girls over three years.

A Kay County jury recommended last week that Bobby Mitchell Ellis be sentenced to 210 years in prison for his crimes, but a judge will set his formal sentence July 21.

Assistant District Attorney Tara Doty said even if Ellis is allowed to serve all six prison terms concurrently, he must serve 85 percent of a 75- year sentence for rape.

Ellis was convicted of two counts of rape, lewd molestation and preparing child pornography, accused of molesting two girls, ages 11 and 13 between 2000 and 2003.
