SAYRE — A former Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper faces sentencing after he was convicted on two felony counts.

Ronald Arganbright is due in court Wednesday morning in Beckham County. Last month, a judge found Arganbright guilty of lewd or indecent acts to a child under 16 and use of an electronic device to facilitate sexual conduct with a minor.

Prosecutors claim Arganbright had sexual contact with a then-15-year-old girl and sent her text messages encouraging her to run away with him.

He was fired in February 2011 after an Oklahoma Highway Patrol investigation.

A local newspaper reports that Arganbright faces up to 15 years in prison.
