Separate crashes on Oklahoma roads kill two

Ila Brown, 60, of Checotah, and Luman Wilcox, 82, of Tulsa, died Saturday in separate crashes on state roads, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Two people died Saturday in separate accidents on state roads, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Ila Brown, 60, Checotah

About 10:20 a.m. Saturday, Brown's car hit a guardrail on State Highway 9 near Longtown in Pittsburg County. The car traveled about 25 feet into Lake Eufaula in water that was about 10 feet deep.

Brown, who was wearing a seat belt, died at the scene, troopers said.

Luman Wilcox, 82, Tulsa

About noon Saturday, Wilcox's sport utility vehicle veered off the road and hit a fence post and tree on County Road North-South 4120 near County Road East-West 550 in Rogers County.

Wilcox, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to a hospital, where he died, troopers said. has disabled the comments for this article.
