BREMEN, Germany (AP) — Serbia international Aleksandar Ignjovski says he is leaving Werder Bremen at the end of the season.
Ignjovski says he turned down a contract extension because he "rarely plays in his preferred position." While nominally a defensive midfielder, Ignjovski has been used mostly by coach Robin Dutt as left back.
Ignjovski would not confirm media reports he is heading to Eintracht Frankfurt.
He arrived in Bremen from OFK Belgrade in 2011 and has played 58 Bundesliga games.
