EDMOND (AP) — Funeral services are being held for a 19-year-veteran of the Edmond Police Department who died unexpectedly last week.

A service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Edmond's First Presbyterian Church for 41-year-old Edmond Police detective Matt Terry. Terry died Wednesday of a heart attack. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City.

Terry joined the department in 1994 as a patrol officer, a position he held for 10 years before being promoted to detective.

Edmond Police Chief Bob Ricks described Terry as the “department prankster” who loved a good practical joke.

He is survived by his wife and a teenage daughter.
