The watch is effective until 4 a.m. in Alfalfa, Craig, Delaware, Garfield, Grant, Kay, Mayes, Noble, Nowata, Osage, Ottawa, Pawnee, Rogers, Tulsa and Washington counties.

An unrelated flood warning also remains in effect in parts of northern Oklahoma, as rivers in Muskogee, Ottawa, Rogers and Tulsa counties are near or above flood stage:

• The warning in Muskogee County is effective until Friday morning and is related to the elevated waters of the Arkansas River near Muskogee, according to the weather service. The river was less than half of a foot below flood stage at 7 p.m. today.

• A flood warning for the Caney River in Rogers and Tulsa counties near Collinsville is effective until Friday afternoon, according to the weather service. The river was nearly 6 1/2 feet above flood stage at 7 p.m., but the waters are receding.

• The Neosho River near Commerce in Ottawa County was about 5 feet above flood stage and falling at 7 p.m., according to the weather service. The flood warning there remains in effect until Friday morning.
