Sex-trial jury starts work today at Major County Courthouse
FAIRVIEW — Attorneys seated 12 jurors Monday in the trial of former Custer County Sheriff Mike Burgess, who faces 36 felony charges of sexual abuse against female inmates and drug court participants in his charge.
Burgess, 56, pleaded not guilty to all counts, which range from forcible oral sodomy and perjury to kidnapping and rape.
He was arrested in April.
