Sharknado: The day after

Admittedly, it’s hard to really focus on work this morning, you know, following such a devastating Sharknado last night.

If you don’t know what I’m talking about, you obviously avoided Twitter and the SyFy channel yesterday.

In what was probably the lowest moment in American entertainment history, the made-for-TV movie “Sharknado” aired last night.

You only had to watch it for like 1.5 seconds to know it was an event that would immediately bring the Twitterverse to its knees.

The premise: water spouts over the Pacific Ocean suck up man-eating sharks and the ensuing sharknadoes make their way over land where downtown Los Angeles, the Hollywood Hills and anything in the storms’ paths are destroyed by high winds and deadly sharks.

Makes sense, right?

Well, the acting was atrocious, the special effects were worse, the cinematography was minor-league level at best. Pretty much anything and everything you would expect from a made-for-TV movie called “Sharknado” airing on the SyFy channel on a Thursday night.

But the movie delivered big-time — on Twitter.
