Shawnee voters asked to approve tax hikes for $50 million in projects
SHAWNEE — Some city leaders say a plan to raise taxes to fund $50 million in city projects is doomed to fail.
Voters will be asked to approve a half-cent sales tax and a property tax increase to finance several projects, including street improvements, public safety upgrades, programs for economic development and a $19 million sports complex.
