SHEBOYGAN, Wis. — An exhibition in Sheboygan features photos and pillows created by cancer patients. The artists, in various stages of cancer or recovery, collaborated with Manitowoc photographers John Shimon and Julie Lindemann. They taught the patients how to use digital photography to reflect their journeys from a new perspective. Shimon and Lindemann also created portraits of six patients. The exhibition at John Michael Kohler Arts Center is called "Changed Perspectives" and it runs through Feb. 13. In another part of the show, fiber artist John Murphy of North Carolina worked with patients to design "creature" pillows using socks. Community members also made some and the museum will give them to local patients. According to the museum, local health care providers approached them with the idea for the exhibition last year.
