Shelby Miller, Memphis shut down RedHawks

— Shelby Miller fired six scoreless innings, and the Memphis Redbirds hit four home runs to beat the Oklahoma City RedHawks 8-1 in front of 8,212 fans at AutoZone Park on Friday night.

Miller (5-8), rated the No. 2 prospect in the minor leagues by MLB.com, had one of his best outings of the season, allowing no runs and four singles in six innings.

The RedHawks' Jimmy Paredes had two hits to pace the offense.

OKC starter Brett Oberholtzer (3-3) gave up six runs in six innings on seven hits. He struck out seven.

The series continues at 6:05 p.m. Saturday night in Memphis.
