Shoe-in: Sarah Jessica Parker's new footwear line

Sarah Jessica Parker’s new line of shoes debuts Feb. 28 at select Nordstrom stores and online. She’s designing the collection with a little help from George Malkemus, who just happens to be president of Manolo Blahnik USA. The brand was a fave of Parker’s character, Carrie Bradshaw, on “Sex and the City.” And, yes, there will be plenty of high heels.

Parker will be making personal appearances at a few stores to present the SJP collection, including Nordstrom’s at NorthPark Center in Dallas. That’s the only Nordstrom in Dallas to carry the shoes, which range in price from $195 to about $500.

The SJP collection includes more than 25 shoe styles made in Italy, three bags, priced from $245 to $375,  and a trench coat, the “Manhatan” at $495.

This isn’t Parker’s first step into the fashion field.  Anyone remember the modestly priced Bitten line for Steve & Barry’s in 2007? Then Halston Heritage came calling in 2010 and she served as president and creative director for a while.

Now the style icon has her own shoe line. Fitting, don’t you think?
