Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers are searching for a man who fired at them during a chase Thursday evening in Oklahoma City.

Patrol Lt. Brian Orr said the chase began about 8:45 p.m. when a trooper tried to stop a swerving car with three people inside on Interstate 40 near the Interstate 44 interchange. The chase snaked through city streets with one of the suspects firing about 10 shots at troopers before the vehicle was abandoned on Wilshire just east of Rockwell.

Troopers did not return fire, Orr said.

Orr said two suspects, a male and female who were passengers in the car, were arrested. The male believed to have been driving the car was still on the loose Thursday night.

Oklahoma City police are assisting troopers as they search for the suspect in the Lyrewood Lane area.

Orr said a gun was also recovered at the scene. Troopers do not know if the suspect, a white man, is still armed.
