Signings Keep Coming For Energy FC

For the third time in less than two weeks, Oklahoma City Energy FC announced it has signed another player.

David Leichty signed a deal to play in Oklahoma City, the team announced on Monday, making him the fifth player signed to OKC. Leichty, just 18 years old is also the third player from the Overland Park, Kan. area and is the fourth player with ties to Sporting Kansas City.

Leichty, a midfielder, was part of Sporting Kansas City’s Under-18 academy program previously.

“He is choosing a different direction than a lot of kids his age and choosing the professional way like I did in my younger days,” Jimmy Nielsen said. Energy FC’s head coach also said he was excited for Leichty and that they young player has a huge passion for the game.
