WASHINGTON (AP) — Luis Silva scored either side of halftime to lead D.C. United to a 4-2 win over the Colorado Rapids in Major League Soccer on Sunday.
Silva gathered a Taylor Kemp pass in the 11th minute before beating Drew Moor and chipping a shot over Clint Irwin for the early lead.
Colorado equalized in the 52nd minute when Dillon Serna's long-range shot surprised goalkeeper Bill Hamid, but Silva put United ahead again in the 67th with a half-volley just outside of the box off a pass from Sean Franklin.
United made it 3-1 in the 82nd minute when Chris Wolfe slipped a shot past a diving Irwin and Fabian Espindola tacked on his eighth goal of the season five minutes later, a left-foot blast from the top of the box.
Deshorn Brown scored in extra time for Colorado.
