Singer Art Garfunkel cancels Nov. 2 Tulsa concert
TULSA — Due to health issues, legendary singer Art Garfunkel has canceled his Nov. 2 concert at The Joint inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa.
Tickets purchased with a credit card will be automatically refunded to that account, casino management announced Thursday in a news release. Cash purchases will be refunded at The Joint box office beginning Friday.
“Legendary singer and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Art Garfunkel has been forced to postpone the remaining 10 concerts he had scheduled for 2012,” Garfunkel's management said in a statement. “Since doctors discovered a weakened vocal cord in 2010, the singer has been working on mending his voice and is intent on making a full recovery.
“Garfunkel regrets the disappointment to fans who bought tickets as well as the venues and promoters who worked to make these shows a success.”
“I had such hopes of being finally ready to perform,” Garfunkel said in the release. “How painful to try and not be quite yet there.”
