Three alumni, including a prominent architect and the first “Queen of Rockabilly,” will be enshrined this week on the Oklahoma City Public Schools Foundation Wall of Fame.

The foundation will honor Jo Carol Cameron, James Loftis and Wanda Jackson during a reception Wednesday and an awards dinner Thursday at the Skirvin Hilton Hotel.

“This is a special class of honorees that speaks to the proud history of Oklahoma City Public Schools,” said Lisa Reed, deputy director of The Foundation for Oklahoma City Public Schools. “Each of their efforts has made our city a better place, and we are honored to recognize them.”

Cameron is a longtime community leader who co-founded Westminster School along with her husband, C.B. Cameron. She attended Edgemere Elementary, Harding Junior High and Classen High School. Cameron was active in convention planning and is a member of the American Fidelity Foundation Board. She was a longtime executive member of the Junior League, served as an officer for the Oklahoma City Symphony Orchestra League and was on the board of the Oklahoma City Art Museum.

Jackson is a 1955 graduate of Capitol Hill High School who signed with Capitol Records and performed with Elvis Presley. She made her mark in the male-dominated field of rockabilly, and also performed country and gospel hits. She was inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame in 2000 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009. In 2012, Jackson released her 31st studio album.
