Skiatook man dies in Sunday wreck

Jimmy Roberts, 74, of Skiatook, died Sunday when his pickup collided with a tractor-trailer on U.S. 169 in Rogers County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

A Skiatook man died Sunday when his pickup collided with a tractor-trailer on U.S. 169 in Rogers County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Jimmy Roberts, 74, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. About 5:50 p.m., he was northbound on the highway in Rogers County, just south of County Road East West 31, when his pickup crossed the centerline. The pickup collided with a southbound truck. Both trucks caught fire and burned, troopers said.

The truck driver and his passenger were taken to a Tulsa hospital and treated for injuries.
