TOKYO (AP) — South Korea's Pohang Steelers have won the Asian Champions League title, beating Saudi Arabia's Al Ittihad 2-1 in the final.
Saturday's victory gives Pohang a record third Asian title after winning in 1997 and 1998.
Forward No Byung Jun put Pohang in front with a free kick early in the second half and defender Kim Hyung Il headed his side's second about 10 minutes later.
Al Ittihad's Mohammed Noor pulled a goal back midway through the second half, but it wasn't enough for the Saudi side, which was also going for its third continental title.
The win also gives the Korean club the right to play in Club World Cup against the likes of European champion Barcelona.
