Slain Nichols Hills burglary suspect was on work-release

NICHOLS HILLS — A suspected burglar who was shot to death by a Nichols Hills police officer Monday morning was an inmate on a work-release program, a state Corrections Department spokesman said.

Police Chief Richard Mask identified the shooting victim as Dustin H. Edelen , 34. Records show Edelen is a convicted felon who was housed at a halfway house on S May Avenue.
