UPDATE: Chance for severe weather in Oklahoma Tuesday and Wednesday

There is a 20 percent chance for rain Tuesday afternoon in Oklahoma. Temperatures will be in the upper 60s.

9:35 a.m. Thunderstorms may form Wednesday afternoon and night over central and northern Oklahoma, according to the National Weather Service. Large hail and damaging wind gusts will accompany any storm that develops along with a threat of tornadoes. Check for weather updates.

6 a.m. Severe weather is possible in parts of southern Oklahoma from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, the National Weather Service reports.

Hail the size of tennis balls or baseballs is possible with 70 mph winds in an area from south of Lawton to Ardmore, west of Durant. Check for weather updates.

5 a.m. There is a slight chance for rain Tuesday in central Oklahoma, the National Weather Service reports.

Temperatures in Oklahoma City will be in the upper 70s Tuesday and 80s Wednesday. Gusty winds are ahead both days.

The Oklahoma City forecast is as follows:

Tuesday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms between 1 and 4 p.m. Mostly cloudy with a high near 67. Northeast wind 7 to 16 mph becoming east, southeast in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Tuesday night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 7 p.m. Mostly cloudy with a low near 64. East wind 7 to 15 mph becoming south after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 21 mph.
