UPDATE: Woods County gets heavy snowfall, slight chance of snow in central Oklahoma Tuesday

A winter weather advisory is in effect for parts of northern and southern Oklahoma Tuesday. There is a slight chance for snow in the Oklahoma City area before noon.

7:15 a.m. Wood County in northern Oklahoma had close to 9 inches of snow Tuesday. Roadways in northwest Oklahoma could be slick and hazardous. Check NewsOK.com for weather updates.

5 a.m. A winter weather advisory is in effect for parts of northern and southern Oklahoma Tuesday until 6 p.m., the National Weather Service.

The advisory has been lifted for central Oklahoma, however, there is a slight chance of snow in the Oklahoma City area before noonl.

The Oklahoma City forecast is as follows:

Tuesday: A 20 percent chance of snow before noon. Mostly cloudy with a high near 26. North wind 7 to 11 mph.

Tuesday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 20. North wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny with a high near 40. Southwest wind 5 to 11 mph becoming north, northwest in the afternoon.

Wednesday night: Mostly clear with a low around 26. North, northwest wind 5 to 9 mph becoming calm.

Thursday: Sunny with a high near 56. South, southwest wind 8 to 14 mph with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Thursday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 35.

Friday: Sunny with a high near 59.

Friday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 35.

Saturday: Sunny with a high near 67.

Saturday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 41.

Sunday: Mostly sunny with a high near 66.

Sunday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 48.
