CHICAGO (AP) — Snow and low visibility forced the cancellation of hundreds of flights scheduled to fly out of Chicago's two major airports.

The Chicago Department of Aviation said Thursday evening that 300 flights were canceled at O'Hare International Airport. Officials say that's due to winter weather conditions. Flights at O'Hare are delayed 45 minutes.

Midway International Airport was reporting delays of two hours for inbound and outbound flights. There were about 120 cancelations at Midway.

The National Weather Service reports more than 12 inches of snow has fallen at Midway since the start of the storm.
