Snow in the Oklahoma Panhandle

8:20 a.m. Friday: I just spoke with Nicholas Fenner, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Amarillo, Texas. Their coverage area includes the Oklahoma and Texas Panhandles. I asked him about wintry weather in the Oklahoma Panhandle.

Fenner said, “Actually just a few minutes ago Beaver reported about a half of an inch of snow there. And at Guymon, as of about 7 this morning, we had had just about 3/4 of an inch of snow.” Fenner said he hadn’t heard of any problems with ice in the Oklahoma Panhandle.
