Question: Are you for or against a new streetcar system downtown? What concerns do you have?
•Elizabeth Moore: They were great when we had them before and will be great again. We need a good mass transit to make the leap to a “real” big city.
•Paula Trammell: It is a stupid waste of money. Fix some of the streets we already have that are falling apart.
•GottaLove Cheeze: I wonder if they can make them solar powered ... less it would cost the city and would help so many people who are without dependable transportation.
•Stephen Tyler Holman: The streetcar is not the same as light rail, but as for light rail just ask the Dallas metro area if it works or not. They can’t seem to build it fast enough to keep up with demand.
•Kate McAllister: I love street cars!
•Gayle Puerta Thornton: Will it ever pay for itself with ticket sales? Or will it always be a tax payer supported free ride? I agree with other posts — light rail would be better and more useful.
•Rosemary Elaine Stow: I am all for streetcars but I’d much prefer a light rail.
•Bob Shelton: so many more pressing needs ... we have and can continue to do well without streetcars
•Suzanne Pina @pinasouthfork: I AM FOR IT AND WOULD USE IT, BUT, CAN THE CITY AFFORD IT?
•Ann Brown @FridayQsMom_59: For. Spending money on a taxi is too high and your bus station needs fixed up too.
•WeSingleMoms OKla @wesinglemomsok: Public transit helps a lot of people
