Murphy is a longtime Oklahoma City resident and founding partner in Studio Six on the Paseo, who studied art at Oklahoma City University, Louisiana Tech, and in Rome, Italy.

She said she began thinking about “transporting reality” to create paintings “that speak to our memories and feelings” about special spaces and places after painting traditional landscapes for many years.

She has served as an officer and member of the Oklahoma Art Guild, Individual Artists of Oklahoma, Paseo Arts Association and Oklahoma Visual Artists Coalition, with work in many private and corporate collections.
