Some of Fallin's decisions appear political

Published: January 19, 2013

“Fallin urges swift OK to Sandy aid” (News, Jan. 15) reports that Gov. Mary Fallin cosigned a letter to U.S. House leaders urging support for federal aid to victims of Hurricane Sandy. Her action, based on her stated view that such aid shouldn't be politicized, is admirable, bipartisan and principled.

It's curious that the governor won't politicize disaster aid, but will politicize health care. Her decision, apparently based on principle, not to accept federal aid under the Affordable Care Act, does exactly that.
