Son, 61, arrested after Oklahoma City man, 91, dies

An Oklahoma City man has died of injuries suffered when he was beaten with a cane. His son has been taken to the Oklahoma County jail on a murder complaint, police report.

A man has been arrested in the beating death of his father, Oklahoma City police report.

Theodore John Meyer, 91, of Oklahoma City, was beaten Thursday afternoon. Meyer was taken to OU Medical Center, where he died Saturday.

His son, Donald Ray Meyer, 61, of Oklahoma City, is being held in the Oklahoma County jail on a murder complaint. He was arrested at the scene on a complaint of domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. The complaint was amended to murder after Theodore Meyer died, police said.

Police said Theodore Meyer was attacked with a cane in an apartment at 14560 N Pennsylvania Ave. has disabled the comments for this article.
