Sonic chief adds 3rd role

Sonic Corp. Chairman and CEO Cliff Hudson has also taken over the role of president at the drive-in restaurant franchiser, the company announced Thursday. Hudson is assuming the title of president at Sonic after Scott McLain stepped down from the position at the end of March. Sonic announced in January that McLain would leave the Oklahoma City-based company after 17 years. McLain is staying on in a transitional role with Sonic through June. McLain joined the company in 1996 as treasurer and became chief financial officer in 1997 before assuming the role of president in 2004. Hudson will not receive any more compensation for his additional duties as president, the company said Thursday.
