Coaches: making a connection
OU women's basketball coach Sherri Coale and men's basketball coach Jeff Capel both said the Sooner Caravan was about reaching out to fans.

"I enjoy it, I really do,” Coale said. "I enjoy people, which is what these are all about, connecting with fans. I think particularly for our players and our program, there's a very special connection with our fan base. They're so loyal. It doesn't matter who we play, when we play, they show up at games.

"This is an opportunity to reach out to them and thank them.”

Said Capel, "It's really all about OU athletics and just letting the fans see OU athletics and touching people and giving them insights into what's going on with the program.”

•Sooner insider: OU football practices are closed, but Bob Stoops took the crowd inside the team's early workouts.

On the action between the Sooner offensive and defensive lines: "You can't believe the battles we have at practice. That's really fun for me as a coach.”

On the team's inexperienced cornerbacks: "Our corners have had their hands on more balls – broken up, intercepted – than I bet we've had since we've been here.
