Sooner Theatre to offer showing of 'Piano Blues'

NORMAN - Sooner Theatre, 101 E Main, will present a free lunchtime screening of the film "Piano Blues" at noon Wednesday.

Director and piano player Clint Eastwood explores his life-long passion for piano blues in the documentary, presenting a treasure trove of rare historical acts.

"Piano Blues" features interviews and live performances by Ray Charles, Dr. John, Marcia Ball, Pinetop Perkins, Dave Brubeck, Jay McShann and others, plus rare archival performance footage of Ray Charles, Otis Spann, Art Tatum, Pete Johnson, Big Joe Turner, Oscar Peterson, Nat King Cole, Martha Davis, Fats Domino, Professor Longhair, Charles Brown, Duke Ellington and others.

Attendees will be entered into a drawing to win two tickets to the Marcia Ball concert April 14 at Sooner Theatre.
