NORMAN — Oklahoma struggled at times to score during the second round of the NCAA women’s basketball tournament.

Arkansas-Little Rock struggled even more.

But thanks to the interior play of senior center Abi Olajuwon, the third-seeded Sooners rolled past UALR 60-44 Tuesday night at the Lloyd Noble Center to advance to the Sweet Sixteen.

OU will play second-seeded Notre Dame on Sunday in Kansas City.

"I thought Abi was just fantastic,” Sooner coach Sherri Coale said.

Neither the Sooners nor the Trojans were fantastic early.

The two teams combined for 29 turnovers and 1-of-12 shooting from 3-point range in the first half, and 44 turnovers and 1-of-23 shooting from beyond the arc for the game.

But OU was able to jump to a 28-13 halftime lead, spearheaded by 18 points in the paint, compared with UALR’s four.

"When they get you in the paint, they’re going to score,” UALR coach Joe Foley said.
