by Ryan Aber Published: May 17, 2013

Oklahoma offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh spent Friday morning recruiting in Ohio.

The trip immediately paid dividends by mid-morning when Troy (Ohio) offensive guard Alex Dalton committed to the Sooners.

Later in the day, OU added another commitment when Gulfport (Miss.) Harrison Central cornerback Tito Windham committed to OU.

Dalton (6-foot-4, 280 pounds) is OU’s first offensive line commit for the 2014 class. The Sooners now have seven overall commitments. first reported the commitment. Windham announced his commitment on Twitter,

Dalton chose the Sooners over Indiana and Stanford. Dalton also had offers from Arkansas, Cincinnati, Kentucky, Michigan State, Nebraska and West Virginia, among others.

Windham (5-11, 181) picked up the offer from the Sooners earlier in the week after getting a previous offer from Louisiana-Lafayette.

Bedenbaugh initially recruited Dalton, and extended an offer, when he coached at West Virginia before joining the Sooners.

Dalton visited Norman twice during the last two months.

Dalton could wind up at center for the Sooners. OU loses Gabe Ikard after this season, and Ty Darlington will be a junior by the time Dalton is on campus.

The Sooners have three players from Ohio on their roster, but only tight end Sam Grant came to Norman directly from high school.

Windham is the Sooners’ third defensive back commitment and second cornerback, joining Marcus Green, who committed last week.

Windham had 44 tackles and an interception as a junior and also saw time at quarterback.

The commitments are non-binding. They can sign beginning Feb. 5, 2014.
