Sooners open tournament with 2-0 win over Baylor

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Jonathan Gray pitched a three-hit shutout and fourth-seeded Oklahoma opened the Big 12 tournament with a 2-0 win against Baylor on Thursday.

Jack Mayfield had an RBI double in the first and Hector Lorenzana tacked on a run-scoring single in the third for the Sooners (37-19).

Nathan Orf led off the fourth with a double for Baylor's only extra-base hit of the game against Gray (9-3). Jake Miller and Steve DalPorto had singles for the fifth-seeded Bears (27-26).

Gray struck out three, walked the first batter he faced and also hit one batter.

Dillon Newman (3-4) went the distance for the Bears, giving up six hits and one walk.
