Sooners QB Blake Bell named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week

Oklahoma quarterback Blake Bell was named the Big 12′s Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Sooners to a 51-20 win over Tulsa.

It was the second consecutive week that an OU player won a weekly award from the conference. Safety Gabe Lynn was the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week last week.

Bell, who replaced Trevor Knight as OU’s starter, threw for 413 yards and four touchdowns, completing 27 of 37 passes.

Bell’s passing yardage was the best in a debut for a Sooners quarterback.

Oklahoma State punt returner Josh Stewart won special teams honors while Kansas State defensive back Kip Daily won defensive player of the week honors.
