NORMAN — Oklahoma, despite being idle this weekend and USC’s loss, was leapfrogged in both the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches’ Top 25 polls.

After a week of being unranked by both polls, Oklahoma State reappeared in the coaches’ rankings at No. 25 following its 65-24 home rout of Louisiana-Lafayette. The Cowboys still aren’t ranked by the AP, although they did receive votes totaling 19 points.

The Sooners dropped from No. 5 to No. 6 in the AP Poll; last week OU (2-0) was tied with Florida State at No. 5.

Sunday, the Seminoles were ranked No. 4 and Georgia, previously ranked seventh, moved ahead of the OU and into the fifth spot.

In the coaches’ poll, Oklahoma remained at No. 5, but was jumped by Florida State, which went from No. 6 to No. 4 after its 52-0 rout of Wake Forest on Saturday.

Alabama retained its No. 1 ranking in both polls after its 52-0 rout at Arkansas. The Crimson Tide received 58 of 60 AP first-place votes, and 54 of 59 top votes from coaches.

LSU, Alabama’s SEC West rival — and opponent in last year’s BCS national championship game — is ranked No. 2 in both polls and received all first-place votes that didn’t go to the Tide.

USC fell from No. 2 to No. 13 in the AP Poll, and from No. 3 to No. 12 in the coaches’ poll, after its 21-14 loss at Stanford.
