Broyles was flagged for taunting on a 51-yard touchdown reception after high-stepping and holding the ball up on a score that brought the Sooners within 21 points, but Oklahoma's offense produced far from enough points to win in a 41-13 loss to Texas Tech on Saturday.

"I'm out there playing. I feel passionate about the game," Broyles said. "It hurts even talking about it right now."

In two conference losses away from Owen Field against Texas and Nebraska, the defense turned in first-class performances while the offense struggled.

Saturday, the defense joined the offense in its struggles away from Norman and produced a predictable result: a blowout loss in which the Sooners were outplayed for the majority of the game.

"We have to help the defense out some time, we can't just rely on them every game," said redshirt freshman Landry Jones. "We didn't help them out at all."
