Source: Adrian Peterson likely out, but no surgery

The wild snow game on Sunday won't cost Adrian Peterson his season, but odds are he won't be on the field this weekend.

The former OU phenom and current Minnesota Vikings running back will not need surgery on his sprained right foot, but is unlikely to play against the Philadelphia Eagles in week 15, according to a person with knowledge of the situation.



The injury puts in the doubt a matchup of arguably the two best backs in the league. Peterson is currently second in the NFL in rushing yards behind Philly's LeSean McCoy.
