Sources: Awaiting trial, Josh Brent won't play for Cowboys in 2013

Josh Brent won’t play for the Cowboys in 2013 but the club doesn’t want to comment on the nose tackle publicly until the NFL rules on his status, sources told the Dallas Morning News.



Club officials are reluctant to acknowledge what will happen with Brent because there are so many moving parts. His trial on intoxication manslaughter for the death of close friend and teammate, Jerry Brown Jr., has not been set. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has yet to hand down a suspension.
