South Carolina QB Shaw to play in all-star game

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina quarterback Connor Shaw will play in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl all-star game next month.

Shaw said via Instagram that he accepted an invitation to the game that will be played January 18th in Los Angeles. Shaw is a senior who is the Gamecocks all-time leader in victories with a 26-5 mark as starting quarterback. That includes a 17-0 mark at home, where Shaw wrapped up his career at Williams-Brice Stadium with a 31-17 victory over rival Clemson.

Shaw has thrown for 2,135 yards and 21 touchdowns with just one interception this season. He's also rushed for 511 yards and five TDs.

Shaw said in his posting on the social networking site he was grateful for the opportunity to play in front of NFL scouts.
