Thompson, a junior, is the son of former OU quarterback Charles Thompson.

Through nine games, Thompson has thrown for 1,903 yards, 23 touchdowns and just five interceptions. He's also run for nine touchdowns.

Haywood (6-4, 250), a senior, has scored on 10 of his 26 receptions and five of his 16 rushing carries.

He also has 49 tackles, four sacks, two fumble recoveries, three forced fumbles and two interceptions.

Haywood becomes the Sooners' 25th commitment for 2010 and the fifth from the state. Julian Wilson, another Southmoore player, is also committed the Sooners.

Thompson is the second OU commit in the class of 2011. Kameel Jackson, a wide receiver from Arlington, Texas, is the Sooners other commitment.

Verbal commitments are non-binding. Haywood can sign beginning Feb. 3. Thompson can not sign until February 2011.

Sounds like he could be a double threat kind of player. Put him at RB or slot receiver, could be able to throw some out of a Wilcat type formation or something. Or bring back the Wishbone! ha
